Most men spend their lives trying not to enter that room and hear what it’s actually saying. They stay busy. Stay useful. Stay needed. Until something happens the performance cannot solve.

Nick is a Jamaican American man in his forties. A husband. A father of two. A Navy veteran. A former pastor. A clinician working toward a doctorate in Counselor Education and Supervision.

In 2021, he almost did not make it to the morning. He was sitting on the side of his bed in a white t-shirt and gray workout shorts, and the only reason he is alive to write this is that his wife came up behind him at the right moment and said four words he will spend the rest of his life trying to deserve.

When the Cave Speaks is his first book. It is not theory.
